The Prince Nymph is a nymph attractor wet fly used in fly fishing, attributed to Doug Prince of Oakland, California in the 1930s and allegedly an improvement on the Brown Forked Tail, whose predecessor was the Zug Bug. It incorporates peacock herl to provide a flashy attractant to fish below.
Imitates: Designed to imitate a stonefly but simulates a variety of aquatic insects
METHOD
Running water:This is a great "go-to" fly as it works in all seasons and all water conditions. It is versatile enough to use it as a larger lead fly (size #12 or #14) in a two fly rig. Or in a smaller size (#16 or #18) as a dropper.
