A Kenyan variation on the Walker's Killer, introduced by Unwin's flies (c. 1980), which is weighted, slightly longer but tied on a longshank hook with the feathers separated out in the same style as the Mrs Simpson. The flies are designed for scratching the bottom in deep pools.
Imitates: a variety of aquatic life, from small baitfish to dragonfly nymphs and larvae.
METHOD
For best results this fly should be fished rather deep, on an intermediate or sinking line, retrieving with a fairly fast, jerky action while at the same time aiding this movement with the tip of the rod;
