The Peter Ross was created in the 1890s as a variant of the Teal and Red.It has over the last 120 years or so become one of the very best lough, lake, and stillwater fly patterns.
Imitates: dead flies, aquatic insects or even an emerging insect.
METHOD
Cast across and slightly downstream, allowing the fly to drift naturally with the current. As it swings across the water, maintain a tight line to feel any subtle takes. A slow, steady retrieve can also be effective, mimicking the movement of small aquatic insects.
