The Kate McLaren is a Scottish wet fly invented by William Robertson in the 1930s. It is a very effective wet fly when fished on the bob as part of a team of flies for traditional loch style fishing. It is also extremely effective for Rainbow trout as well as brownies.
Imitates: a wide range of food on a lake and has a very subtle trigger.
METHOD
It is a great top dropper fly and usually fished with a floating line. Pull the Fly through the waves on a windy day or figure of eight it on calmer ones
