A version of the original Silver Invicta, which was originally developed in England for sea trout by John Eastwood and formerly known as the Silver Knicker. The African version of this traditional wet fly was popular with fishermen in Kenya in the 50s and 60s - and still is today! It is tied without the body hackle and with a ginger hackle instead of the traditional blue jay. The name comes from the flat silver tinsel and ribbed oval tinsel which makes up the body of the fly.
Imitates: Designed to imitate sedge hatches
METHOD
Stillwater - Usually fished on a slow-sink line with a slow retrieve. It can also be fished as a top dropper or bob fly. When sedges are hatching, it is best fished with a floating fly line and a slow retrieve just below the surface.
Running water -Cast upstream and across of typical splashy rises and dead drift just under the surface with a floating line.

- Fly Patterns: Please note these are hand made items, so may vary slightly from the pictures on the website, due to natural variations in the materials used for our flies, variations in the dyeing process, and individual tying styles.
