Another soft hackle version of a Hare's Ear with a name suggesting that it could be one of the only nymph patterns you need in your fly box, showing great versatility. It is a devastatingly effective fly that brings fish to the net in a wide variety of waters and conditions. A 'buggy' nymph that seems to imitates almost any natural nymph that trout find tasty.
Imitates: Scuds, sow bugs, mayfly nymphs, and caddis larvae amongst many more!
METHOD
Running water - the Hare's Ear is a classic nymph and should be fished as such. You can fish it as a single nymph either under an indicator or as a single nymph. Other ways are double nymph on a Euro nymph method. Whichever way you choose, this nymph pattern can be deadly!
Still water - try stripping it for great results!
Hare's Ear - Holy Grail
