A great little nymph imitator, known by some as the deadliest of the nymphs, because it imitates many different food sources for fish, making it an essential item in the fly box.If it were to have a slogan, it would read "Fooling fish for generations". It is believed to have been invented by Frederic Halford in the 1880s as a dry fly and has since been developed.
Imitates: Scuds, sow bugs, mayfly nymphs, and caddis larvae amongst many more!
METHOD
Running water - the Hare's Ear is a classic nymph and should be fished as such. You can fish it as a single nymph either under an indicator or as a single nymph. Other ways are double nymph on a Euro nymph method. Whichever way you choose, this nymph pattern can be deadly!
