This pattern was originally developed by New Zealander, Bill Hamill, in the 1960s. It's a great stillwater trout fly and also great for bass too.
Imitates: Small fish and insects.
METHOD
Stillwater - Fish close to lake or dam banks and in and around weed beds. Tie on an intermediate or sinking line, retrieve with a smooth pull, followed by short pauses. Alternatively try it closer to the surface on a lighter line with a jerky retrieve to immitate a dying minnow.
