A heavy-bodied nymph, first developed for fast mountain streams in the USA, especially for trout.
Imitates: Nymph
METHOD
Running water: Czech Nymph Style – trip the fly along the bottom, in theory so you can feel it bouncing over the stones and gravel. This is achieved using a short line, which enables the fly fisher to stay in touch with the fly. Cast upstream and with the line in touch at all times, allow the fly to drift down. At the end of the drift, allow the fly to rise up and then recast to repeat the procedure
Alternatively, use a fast-sinking line and a short 2m leader / tippet. Cast upstream and dead drift back just slightly faster than the current.
