Pre-weighted to swim upside down and therefore tied onto the hook upside down for a snag-free, bottom scratching nymph pattern. Can be tied in many different colours. A great trout fly.
Imitates: Small bottom-dweling insects, stonefly nymph larva, dragonfly larva or even shrimp and immature crayfish.
METHOD
Running water: Use a fast-sinking line and a 3m leader, working upstream in fast rivers, casting into pockets and lies as you go. Also works well fished in the Czech nymph style.
Stillwater: Allow the nymph to sink well down and fish slowly along the bottom which is the natural creature’s habit. Retrieve using a slow figure of eight.
