Not a huge amount is known about this fly pattern as it is not the traditional Carlton made from Golden pheasant tail. This one is possibly attributed to Joss Taylor from the Kenya Fly Fishers' Association and looks more like a cross between a Pheasant tail and a Coch y Bonddu.
Imitates: Beetles and other aquatic life
METHOD
Stillwater: On a floating line, cast out to the ripple at the edge of calm water on a lee shore. Retrieve the fly very slowly.Running water: Casting upstream and dead drifting back under a floating line is very effective. Swim the fly under overhanging tussocks and bushes.
